Court Division

The Court Security Deputies are responsible for the safety and security of the Labette County Judicial Center - Parsons location and the Oswego Courthouse (3rd Floor). Their duties include operating security screening checkpoints with metal detectors and X-ray scanners for all visitors, enforcing the prohibition of weapons, firearms (except for authorized law enforcement), and other contraband, and maintaining order inside the courtrooms. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the courtrooms. Court Security Deputies also serve as bailiffs during court sessions, manage prisoner transport, respond to emergencies, and ensure the protection of judges, court staff, jurors, attorneys, and the public.

Visitors to either the Parsons or Oswego locations should expect to pass through security screening and comply with all courthouse rules.
