Tax Sale Advance Bidder Registration Starting on Monday, June 1, 2026

The Labette County Treasurer's Office in Oswego will begin registering advanced bidders on June 1, for the Labette County Delinquent Tax Sale to be held Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 9 am in the courtroom at the Courthouse.  

If you are in Oswego and wish to stop by to register, you may do so Monday thru Friday during regular office hours of 8:30 am to 5 pm.  Bidders may also register the morning of the sale beginning at 7:45 am.  Whatever day you decide to register, the bidder must provide proper identification.  On the morning of the sale, everyone will want to be registered by 9 am and in the courtroom to hear the announcements from county counselor, Brian Johnson.  

You will not be assigned a bid number if you are the record owner of real estate upon which delinquent taxes remain unpaid according to the records of the Labette County Treasurer (K.S.A.79-2812)

As to any particular parcel of property, you will not be allowed to purchase if: 

1.      You have a statutory right to redeem as per K.S.A. 79-2803;

2.      You held an interest in the tract as an owner or mortgagee or assignee at any time in which taxes were due upon which this sale is based;

3.      You are a parent, grandparent, grandchild, child, spouse, sibling, trustee or trust beneficiary of any person described in number 2. above;

4.      You are purchasing for, directly or indirectly, a person who has the statutory right to redeem.

Each purchaser must file with the Clerk of the Court an Affidavit stating that you do not have the statutory right to redeem the property nor are you acting directly or indirectly for a person who may have the statutory right to redeem, before title will transfer.

Deeds will be issued only in the name of the person signing the Bidder's Affidavit.  A separate deed will be issued for each parcel sold.
