Labette County, Kansas -The Labette County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce that seven of its correctional staff members, and two medical staff members from Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, have successfully completed the National Certified Corrections Officer (NCCO) program; in addition, four supervisors have earned the esteemed National Certified Corrections Supervisor (NCCS) certification from the National Institute for Jail Operations (NIJO).

These prestigious certifications are awarded to professionals who have demonstrated exceptional knowledge and expertise in correctional operations, management, and leadership. To achieve these certifications, a combined total of over 930 hours of training were completed by the correctional staff, ensuring they meet the highest national standards in the field. The NCCO and NCCS certifications set a standard for training and professionalism, ensuring these individuals are well-prepared to manage challenging situations and uphold safety and security within the facility.

Sheriff Darren Eichinger stated, "I am extremely proud of our staff for their hard work and determination in achieving these prestigious national certifications. The combined 930 hours of training exemplifies their commitment to ensuring safe and professional correctional services. These certifications are a testament to their dedication, and they set a high standard for the entire Sheriff's Office."

The dedicated efforts of these officers and supervisors in completing rigorous coursework and examinations reflect their commitment to excellence and their desire to provide the highest level of service to the community. These certifications will help improve the Labette County Jail operations and contribute to the ongoing development of its correctional staff.

Captain Brian Harlow, Jail Administrator, added, "This achievement is the result of over six months of hard work.
