Residential Fire in Mound Valley Ks.

On 09/03/2022 at approximately 23:44 hrs. Labette County Deputies responded to a 911 call in reference to a structure fire located at 110 E 6th St. Mound Valley Ks. Upon their arrival, Mound Valley Rural Fire personnel, along with the Altamont Rural Fire Department were in the process of extinguishing the fire.

Once the fire was extinguished, Fire fighters discovered a deceased person in the Southwest bedroom of the residence. The deceased person was identified as 55-year-old Michael Frost. Frost was transported to Frontier Forensics for autopsy. At this time the origin & cause of the fire is being investigated by the Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office.
