Aggravated Burglary suspect

On August 18th 2020, at approximately 0615 hrs. the Labette County 911 dispatcher received a call-in reference to an individual laying on the highway at Hwy 59 & 17000 rd.

Upon the arrival of deputies, they found a 33-year-old male bleeding from the chest. During the investigation officers learned that the suspect broke into a near by residence. Upon hearing the suspect inside the home, the owner shot the armed suspect prior to him running from the house.

The suspect was taken by ambulance to Labette Health, and later transferred to Freeman Hospital in Joplin. At this time the investigation is ongoing and no names have been released.
