UPDATED NOTICE
After careful consideration and in response to the growing concern of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), the Labette County Jail is enacting the following provisions as part of a containment and mitigation strategy and pandemic response plan to prevent and/or isolate the occurrence of the disease within our facility.
Effective March 19th, 2020, the LABETTE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE LOBBY IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Non-emergency questions are directed to call (620) 795-2565.
Effective April 15th, 2020, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly extended Executive Order 20-16 which extends the March 30th, 2020 STATEWIDE STAY-AT-HOME ORDER. The measure will now be in place at least until Sunday, May 18th, 2020.
This includes but not limited to the following...
Inmate family visitation will be cancelled for the Saturdays of April 18th, April 25th, May 2nd, May 9th & May 18th 2020
-Inmate money can be left at the Sheriff's office or mailed by money order to the inmate at 718 5th Street, Oswego, KS 67356
Jail ministry volunteers will be cancelled for the Thursdays of April 16th, April 23rd, April 30th - May 21st 2020
Inmate Attorneys, Drug & Alcohol/Psychological/Children & Family Services need to call the jail and arrange for appointments by video.
Bonding Agents must call the jail and make appointment for bonding inmates.
(Exclusions - jail officers, kitchen staff, county maintenance staff and contract medical staff - under the Kansas Essential Function Framework to the daily operations of the facility.)
