Tax scam

There is another scam going around. The victim stated that she received a phone call from a county phone number claiming to be collecting taxes on behalf of the county. The taxpayer was told she had 30 minutes to pay the outstanding amount over the phone or law enforcement would be there to arrest her. This happened in another county not Labette Co. If you get a call like this DO NOT PAY over the phone!! We will NOT come and arrest you. If you have questions about paying your taxes, contact the Labette Co. Treasurer's Office, or the Labette Co.
